The climate here is pleasanter than I had thought it would be, and much more endurable, though perhaps we have not seen much of it yet. It is much colder however a little farther in the north. I have been keeping a meteorological journal since the first of October, as much as I am able according to the directions given me by Prof. Henry.

Please remember me to Mr. Meek, I shall write to him on the first opportunity. Also to Prof. Gill and all others.
