    Cooper has discovered a snail he supposes to be new, but which I have some doubts of. and has sent me a lot of snails to work out the lingual arrangements &c.
    I am still trying to get my Monterey notes in a fit state to send Carpenter before I go.  I shall be very glad to get the copy of his Supple. Rep. you mentioned and will take good care of it.  The previous pkge was duly recd.
    You spoke in a previous letter of seeds of conifers.  Mrs. Thos. Bridges, widow of the collector, proposes to earn her living by collecting and exporting Cal. seeds of conifers particularly and any order sent through Hubbard will be duly attended to. and fresh seeds guaranteed.  Mrs. Bridges deserves well of all naturalists
