The news is as follows. I have at last heard from Mr. Walker of Chicago, who complains! that I have not written to him during the winter. But of course I shall not tell him so.

I enclose a copy of a letter rec'd from Henry Elliott from Ralph Pope who has returned from the Frazer country with a heavy disgust on. They are (that is Conway who is a Canadian is) filling up every available position with Canadian and blue noses, who, I can testify; from a residence of nearly five years among them; are the meanest of God's intelligent creation.
