My Dear Prof. Baird,

Ive put off my writing a little too long and now am in a hurry.

I and my party are all well and jolly.  Will try hard to get some good things on the transit. Meantime I've exercised the [[covennant? or cormorant?]] like propensity learned at the Smithsonian and believe I have already picked up two collections


[[strikethrough]]([[/strikethrough]] am on the transit I've not yet seen. - the other is a passenger going to San Jose  - or the country back of there where his brother is a coffee planter - for his health.
