I have just leaned that I can pretty certainly send back my specimens tomorrow if I can only find a keg to pack them in - If I cant do better I'll send the smaller things in bottles.
We have a few birds. We are like to be here some days,- I shall have to spend nearly $100 here - you cant look at a man ^[[here]] [[strikethrough]] for [[/strikethrough without paying at least $1. - natives expect to be paid about $1 per hour for work.
It is a great old country though - and OK! such fine [[strikethrough]] b [[/strikethrough]] birds!
Please dont fail to send lots of arsenic to Holland - it costs $2 per lb here. - can get good seed shot here tho. I cant find a small box or wide mouthed bottle.
