Comprising however energy, brains, and capacity enough to enable me not only to explore the whole route - and if necessary even examine [[strikethrough]] the [[/strikethrough]] slightly the entire region between the Ocean and the Rocky Mountains and Youkon River from the Head of the Frazer to Behrings Straits, with the view to locating the very best permanent line, and discovering all possible or necessary routes of inland transportation and points of landing for supplies via the Ocean and to also establish depots and local bases for future operations on the line: to also secure from the Indians as far as possible Commissary Stores and means of transportation for all the Companies future as well as immediate operations and I must be able if I choose to secure immediately the services of enough Indian [[strikethrough]] s [[/strikethrough]] workmen to do all of the actual construction whenever it is necessary to set them at their work.
