Col Stayer

The damage we are sustaining from want of immidiate, suitable, reliable and rapid Ocean transportation will I firmly believe cost the Company double the amount for which you could have bought the Steamer California

The Shubrick is insufficient and unreliable and if take alone would be an absolute failure.

Col Bulkley's failure to get supplies to me in time might entail the loss of a year in parts of the work.

I fear you do not begin to realize the value of him to me at this date or how horribly Col Bulkley is crippled for want of Ocean transportation. If he still chooses to buy the California, he must have the power before May 3rd. For gods sake give him whatever power
he lacks to buy whatever Steamer he chooses.
