The foregoing [[strikethrough]] telegr [[/strikethrough]] drafts of telegrams were all submitted to Col Bulkley about May 1st and at first no objections were made ^ [[insertion]] by him [/insertion]] to my statement that "Col Bulkley "orders me to build the line from "Head of Frazer to the Straits" - It is true he had given me no formal order, - but we had repeatedly talked of my [[strikethrough g [[/strikethrough]] taking charge of the party and I certainly understood (somewhat to my regret) that he expected me to do the work. -
