I suspected then as I do now that to certain members of the Cols staff (I think I know them) I am all this bother.  Probably, - jealous - that an anti red tapist should do so much as I proposed doing and [[underlined]] demonstrated I could do! [[/underlined]]  They managed by a series of continued backbiting to irritate Col Bulkley till he assumed the false position toward me that he did - Except Charlie Pease, most of my [[strikethrough]] men [[/strikethrough]] 6 men from the East hurt me by their childish impatience and distrust in me - I'm afraid Rothnock even was not quite as trustful in me as he might have been and so hurt me by encouraging the idea that I was not competent to perform the work
