[[strikethrough]] No. 1.[[/strikethrough]]

An Exploring Expedition landing at the mouth of the Youkon could ascend that river in boats and search the Great Bend in thirty (30) days (allowing them to travel 500 miles at the rate of only 17 miles per day) - or landing at the head of Norton Sound the expedition could reach the Youkon at about the same Point, and build canoes or boats for river transportation [[underline]] within the same [[/underline]] time. ( ie 30 days).

- And I would propose that I should leave a point near the Great Bend July first, [[underlined]] travelling in a Steamer, boats or canoes[[/underlined]] I would thus reach Fort Youkon July 17th travelling [[?500]] [[underlined]] Miles[[/underlined]] at [[underlined]] 30 Miles per [[/underlined]] day.

Any side Expeditions sent up river Southward need not retard the [[underlined]] main expeditions.[[/underlined]]

Meat being provided ahead I would [[underlined]] delay but one [[/underlined]] day at the Fort.
And leaving there July 18th I would reach Fort Selkirk August 1st.

Transcription Notes:
jeni92127 reviewed 30 Sept 2017 - There was no extra space in "(ie" in the original - "travelling in a Steamer, boats or canoes" was parenthesized. There was no extra space after it either. This misspelling of traveling is in the original. - 500 is correct since it is the same amount that is to be crossed via the method mentioned previously.
