I would descend the Laird (say 250 miles) to the Forks, in five days (arriving Aug. 16th)
 - Allowing one day (17th) to complete my despatches.
-I would start (Aug 18th) up the Dease river & reach Dease House (say 250 miles) in seven days. (say Aug. 25th) -
Dease House seems a natural terminus to this line of exploration.
I could thus report to you personally at mouth of Strickun. [[underlined]]September 20th[[/underlined]] (About) or at New Westminster. [[underlined]] October 1st[[/underlined]] Or at the Mouth of the Youkon October 1st
