[[Q written over right side of each paragraph]] 739 Passerella iliaca Nest & 5 eggs [[strikethrough]] of [[underlined]] Zonotrichia [[/underlined]] or [[underlined]] Passerella [[/underlined]] [[/strikethrough]] Nest on ground at the edge of a dense thicket. [[strikethrough]] I saw the bird once but did not get a good view and couldn't kill her. She deserted the nest upon my setting a snare for her. She seemed too red for a [[underlined]] Zonotrichia [[/underlined]], and was probably [[underlined]] Passerella iliacus [[/underlined]]. Fr. Res. June 22. K 740 [[underlined]] Spizella socialis [[/underlined]] [[strikethrough]] Nest & 4 eggs. Saw the bird quite close as she sat on the nest, and am sure she was not [[underlined]] pallida [[/underlined]] as the the chesnut crown was noticed, nor do I think she could have been the var with the striped crown. Fired at her with large shot & found nothing but one leg. Nest on small spruce 2 feet from the ground. Ft. Res. June 22. K [[/strikethrough]]
