[[underlined]]Tues. 24 april[[underlined]] Spent day with mother - At Douglas had long talk with two Instrument flight instructors in the B-25 transition school. They very unhappy because no one is permitted to fly actual instruments. They feel would be great benefit if even their static personnel could fly actual instruments. - School seemed to be doing good job of hand instruction. School at Douglas had excellent B-25 wt & bal. section. They weighed my a/c and put ballast in tail - offered to replace seats if can come back. Went to Tucson - [[underlined]] Wed. 25 April.[[/underlined]] Had to wait until about 10 am for Lt. Col/ Gillette - director of training. He passed me on to Maj. MacIntyre - Pres. of Stand Board. He is former TWA AB 4 eng school student. He seems to be doing pretty good job. But all have same old cry - No actual instruments permitted. Went through B-29 with aerial engineer. Discussed operations in 8th with a couple of returned pilots. They say a method (SOP) for spacing on arrivals permitted let downs about one per minute. Said never saw any trouble. Only collision seen was one in CAVV
