To N.J. to view Sam Saint's Traffic control device. It was not operative and Saint out of town. - It turns out to be only a computer and an automatic, interlocked posting mechanism.

On to Indianapolis in evening where viewed Bartow, Westinghouse, and ordinary neon approach lights. Visibility OK. Therefore no test in poor weather. Looked like neon much the best in all respects - Looked at a "polychrome projector" which gives a visual glide path:

Went to field 8:30 am to fly various aids. Visibility down and CAA could not get clearance. Finally taxied but and waited about 1 1/2 hours at end of runway then came back and had lunch

Funny that CAA experiment station cannot get clearance from CAA - ATC!
