^[[Discuss with Col White system of Ck radio operators]]

January 9th, 1944 Chabun (Sector HQ)

Stayed at the Bungalow #1 last night. Very crowded. Morgan, Col White (Comm.) etc. were there. Four nurses came over to dinner from the Air Evacuation unit. Excellent buffet dinner. Sure wish the fields could get a little of the good food.

Meeting this morning with operations personnel to decide about the future operation s for purpose of communications and of traffic control. Little done on amount of operations. Morgan's and White's suggestion re time controlled take-offs was rejected without them present. A plan of lateral separation was being discussed when I left.

Went to De ^[[r]]gaon in afternoon and picked up mimeograph machine. Went on to Jorhat. Found that Col Clarke is relieved as CO. Apparently he is going to Sector probably to be operations executive. Capt. Davis is in command.

1/10/44
Visited Col Pocock of ASC. He tries to be cooperative but has very little to offer. Went on to QM. They gave us a little stuff. All concerned want us to send requisitions through regular channels which means weeks or months before they can be filled. Tried to arrange for drawing through Calcutta. No soap. Pocock says will try to arrange it later. May have to have that worked through Delhi

Met Lt. Col H. S. Beeks at Sector and he came back with us. He agrees that set up at Jorhat for taking care of transient s was miserable.

Back at Misamari, talked with Maj. Page re future operations. He suggests following sequence: 1. Get all preparations complete for Chief Pilot's conference.
2. Hold conference and come out with standardized flight procedures. 3. Standardize Chief Pilots in air. 4. Get approval of procedures at Sector. 5. Take whole to Delhi, [[strikethrough]] and [[/strikethrough]]
