training airplane has already proved of value by a noticeable increase in flight training activity at each station. Rechecking of all 1st Pilots is proceeding as rapidly as possible, including both local training flights and en route flight checks. Major Davidson and myself have worked together and co-ordinated all phases of the Pilot Training Program, and I am personally convinced that we are beginning to realize "a profit on our investment".

I can assure you that we intend to follow through on the program in the 1,2,3 method which you suggested - PROCEDURES - TRAINING - SUPERVISION.

I mailed a print of the picture which we had made at the meeting, and would sure like to have a copy of the one made at Gaya when we were there last week. Incidentally, I am sending you information copies of any memorandums that we issue, which I believe would be informative. I would like to receive a personal letter from you, regarding the conduct of the next three (3) classes on C-46's at Gaya, with any personal comments you care to make. I believe it would be advisable to give each pilot at least one (1) landing at maximum gross weight. I think nearly everybody including myself are inclined to bring the C-46 in too hot. The tech order specifies best indicated air speed for approach at gross weight of 45000 lbs at 95 miles per hour. (Page 107 tech order Number 01-25LA-1.
