SUBJECT: Pilot Training Program.

TO : Commanding Officer, Hq, Western Sector, ICWATC, Station #3, APO 465 Attention of Sector Chief Pilot (Thru: Commanding Officer, Station 17, APO 884.

1. New First Pilots.

a. Six former Co-Pilots have been given first pilot status in the last two (2) weeks. Two co-Pilots have been returned to duties until they have attained a higher degree of proficiency in Radio operation. The Transition ship in this period has flown a total of 107 hours on a twenty four hour schedule.

2. En Route.

a. The enroute checking and training is proceeding under the capable supervision of three officers that are constantly away from this station covering the various routes and crews.

3. Co-Pilots Awaiting Training.

a. There are eighteen co-Pilots in ground school training at present and this will be maintained insuring a steady flow of pilots for local flight training.

4. Ground School.

a. One hour each of the following subjects is scheduled every day, Radio-weather-engines-hydraulics and Aircraft-instruments-electrical system certificates of Proficiency will be given at the finish of the class by the specialists giving the instruction.

5. Link.

a. The link is operating [[underlined]] nine (9) hours [[/underlined]] a day under the supervision of [[underlined]] nine instructors. [[/underlined]] This program can be increased if there is any need.

6. Chief Pilots Office.

a. This Office has been set up and is operating under handicap of no available space, help or equipment. Files and records are being kept on all phases of operation.

7. Personnel.

a. A staff of necessary personnel has been selected for this training program and is sunctioning with a view of obtaining Maximum results with a minimum loss of time.
