Have been so busy with station affairs that I have neglected the log book. The Communications conference went off very wellindeed. Everyone seemed quite pleased with it. Col. White seemed to think it was one of the best conferences he had ever attended. He suggests the desirability of holding a similar conference for Station Commanders. -- Must work up something on that. Capt. Moore is working up general report of conference.
Capt. Galbraith ordered to report to Wing HQ at once.
Air Inspectors from ATC HQ (Mag Sheridan and Capt. Heartwell) inspected the base quite thoroughly. Don't know xx whether it was in response to my request for general inspection or not. They found an awful lot wrong with the whole base. They believe that the reputation of the base was mainly based on salesman ship. That it was basically far from sound.
Main points of inspection were
1. No property records in general supply nor in tech supply.
2. Instruments, etc. not stored properly.
3. Guard inadequate.
4. Service club improperly run and no fund.
5. No proper accounting of funds. No councils.
6. One fund short. (200 or more Ruppees.)
