by the said Untied States Centennial Commission and set over to the said Smithsonian Institution on the condition that the said Smithsonian Institution shall cause said Minerals and Ores to be properly classified arranged and exhibited as agreed by said Thomas Donaldson and H. P. Blake at the International Exhibition to be held at Philadelphia AD 1876.

It is understood that there are already shored in Philadelphia Two hundred and seventeen (213) boxes of the Collection in question in charge of the U.S. Centennial Commission and that some additional boxes are on their way and that the remainder will be hereafter despatched
