Sir:

In answer to your communication of 23d ultimo, advising me of the actin of your Board relative to the erection of a separate building for the exhibition to be, made by the Executive Departments of the Government in the International Exhibition of 1876, I have the honor to state that the subject has been under advisement by the Executive Committee of the Centennial Commission and the Centennial Board of Finance for several weeks.    It is the desire to give your Board all the accommodations and facilities for the proposed Governmental display that we can consistently with the means at our command, and we have therefore given the proposition to erect a separate building for the use of your Board, at the cost of this Comissino, most careful investigation and considerations
