The vouchers were returned for want of the completion of the certificate of Gen. Eaton, and also the correction of the disparity between the face of one of the vouchers ($282.-) and the certificate of J G Swan at the foot of his receipt on the same voucher stating the amount to be $384 [[underline]] gold [[/underline]] A statement should also appear on the voucher for "discounts" tc on certain drafts that these drafts were sent him by the Representation of the (?) Department in payment of vouchers for $(?) , $(?) $(?) heretofore presented by him [[insert]] ^ and paid in currency [[/insert]] so that these old vouchers and the present one can be unmistakeably [[strike]] be [[/strike]] coupled together in any review of his accounts that may be made.
