[[underline]]July 10[[/underline]] - Moved camp down half a mile to good water - Set traps & made up a few specimens. Found 2 bear skulls.

[[underline]]July 11[[/underline]] - Went back up gulch where I found the bear skulls & found cranium for largest pair of jaws & also scapulae & pelvis of probably the same bear - all were scattered along the bottom of gulch by high water - Found Conepatus, Mephitis, & Urocyon skulls in gulch. Set more traps & made up skins.

[[underline]]July 12[[/underline]] - Went down to the ranch - 2 miles to see if I could send mail to Ft. Davis but couldn't. Caught Thomomys & Peromyscus.

Spent most of the morning with the big Agavas on ridge just above the ranch. There are probably 100 plants with 25 in flower & several old seed stalks- all scattered for a quarter of a mile along a stony ridge. No others seen in the Mts. They are the same as those in the Chisos Mts. & fully as large- Some reach a height of near 20 feet & a diameter at top of leaves of 5 or 6 inches.
