[[underline]]July 13[[/underline]]. Moved camp down about 2 miles below the ranch so as to get more gophers & spermophiles. Camped at about 5500 feet where we stopped over night on our way up.
Talked with the ranchman -Geo McGuire - a half negro - & found that this was the old Finley ranch where I staid & worked in January 1900. The Finley ranch as located on the map is over the ridge to the south where Otis Finley now lives.
A slow, drizzling rain took part of the afternoon & seemed to be the edge of a big storm going by to the east.
[[underline]]July 14[[/underline]] - Sunday. Had a lot of mammals to make up - then laid plans for Oberholsers work. packed a lot of specimens to send by mail & wrote some.
Oberholser & Fuertes both leave the outfit tomorrow & were busy getting ready, sorting out their things & taking a bath.
