[[underlined]] Aug. 26 to 30 [[/underlined]].

Remained at our plains camp trapping for small stuff, but a hard rain every afternoon has hindered the trapping. However we have taken Onychomys, Peromyscus sonoriensis, Mus musculus, Microtus aztecus, Perognathus [[space]], Perodipus montanus, Thomomys [[space]], Spermophilus 13lineatus, Zapus, [[space]], Lepus campestris.
There are lots of Cynomys gunnisonis, some badgers & coyotes in the valley.

The flat plain where we are camped is smooth & level with a carpet of short grama grass. In places there is a little Bigelovia & Gutterrizia & patches of cactus (Opuntia polycantha)

The farms run along the stream & ditch courses & have lots of trees & meadows as well as good fields, but the mosquitoes are so thick in the woods we did not camp there.

Transcription Notes:
'Opuntia polycantha'= Opuntia polyacantha - nwmaath
