[[underlined]] Lucas [[/underlined]] v. [[underlined]] Ripley [[/underlined]]

In this suit, filed in the U. S. District Court for the District of Columbia under the Equal Pay and Privacy Acts, plaintiff alleged that her nonselection for a higher paying position was discriminatory and sought retroactive promotion, injunctive relief, and nominal damages. The suit was voluntarily dismissed with prejudice in September 1978. (A class action suit filed by plaintiff in July 1978, alleging sex and racial discrimination for the same nonselection for a higher paying position, is still pending.)
