[[underlined]] Celebration of the Einstein Centennial and the International Year of the Child [[/underlined]]

The seventh Doubleday Lecture Series, on the theme "Einstein's Century," will focus on Einstein's achievements and their effects on the world. The program:

. Dec. 6, 1978 - Lord Snow "Einstein the Man"
. Jan. 17, 1979 - John Archibald Wheeler "Is the Universe Comprehensible?"
. Feb. 28, 1979 - Peter Gay "The Einstein-Freud Correspondence" 
. April 11, 1979 - Sir Karl Popper "Einstein and the Revolution in Our Idea of Knowledge"

On March 3, "Albert Einstein: 1879-1979" will open at the National Museum of History and Technology. In view of the Institute for Advanced Study's cosponsorship of this exhibition, the director of the Institute, Harry Woolf, will participate in the ceremonies.

The U.S. Postal Service will issue the Einstein commemorative stamp in Princeton; if all goes according to plan the date of issue will be March 14, Einstein's 100th birthday. At the Smithsonian on March 14 there will be an evening public lecture, part of the "Exploring Space with Astronomers" series, at the National Air and Space Museum's Einstein Spacearium; P.J.E. Peebles, Princeton physicist, will speak on "Einstein's Vision and the Discovery of the Expanding Universe."

A seminar planned for May 23-26, 1979 on the theme "Play and Inventiveness" will serve as an element in the observance of both the International Year of the Child and the Einstein Centennial. The program
