[[underlined]] Information on other books [[/underlined]]

As reported in the July Regents' Newsletter the Smithsonian Exposition Books, with the approval of Mr. Webb as Chairman of the Executive Committee, will soon publish a book on the National Zoo community entitled [[underlined]] A Zoo for All Seasons: The Smithsonian Animal World. [[/underlined]] This will be a 224-page popular book introducing a broad circle of readers to the Zoo's research, conservation, and exhibition programs which relate to the entire spectrum of U.S. and international zoology. The book has been tested and forecasted to appeal to about 5% of our Associates readership. It is expected to appear in print by early September.

The Smithsonian Publishing Council has given [[underlined]] tentative [[/underlined]] endorsement to SEB to continue development of [[underlined]] The Smithsonian Book of American Presidents, [[/underlined]] pending results of a survey in September. Publication is planned for March 1980. Test results may be available by the January Regents' meeting.

Development continues on the Sun book and the American Folklife book, planned for autumn 1980 and spring 1981 respectively, as well as for a series of children's books. Further information will be forthcoming to the Regents as it becomes available.
