[[underlined]]Survey of Smithsonian Institution Property[[/underlined]]

Mr. Jameson pointed out that, as suggested at the Board's Executive Committee meeting of April 18, 1979, a current survey of Institution owned and leased property has been prepared. Survey information includes identification and purpose; location; size; date, type, and cost of acquisition; and details of major repairs, renovation, or improvements. It is anticipated that the following draft text will be refined, supplemented with an introduction and appropriate photographs and maps, and spiral bound similar to the [[underlined]]Five-Year Prospectus[[/underlined]] and [[underlined]]Programs and Activities[[/underlined]].

This survey, revised and updated as required, will be a significant addition to the above documents. Also, as a compendium of Institution property, programs and construction, repair and improvement activities, it will provide a useful cross-reference with the annual budget request and updated Prospectus. Its distribution will address this purpose.

The Secretary noted that the Regents had had a pre-meeting session in May 1974 to review the first such survey of Smithsonian buildings and facilities, and that the Institution had profited from such periodic cataloguing.
