The Honorable Corrine C. Boggs
U.S. House of Representatives
1524 Longworth House Office Building
Washington, D.C. 20515

Dear Lindy:

I am sending you a copy of the bill authorizing the Smithsonian Institution to acquire the Museum of African Art. I have asked my colleague, Senator Wendell Anderson, to introduce it on my behalf in the Senate. I would be very honored if you and your colleagues in the House who serve on the Smithsonian Board of Regents would introduce it in the House and seek co-sponsors and supporters for its passage.

I am sure that you know that I believe that this is a very important and valuable step for both the Smithsonian and for the Museum of African Art.

Sincerely,
[[signed]] H. Humphrey [[/signed]]
