Royal Cortissoz, Esq.,
70 Fifth Avenue,
New York, New York.

Dear Mr. Cortissoz:

I was very sorry to have missed you when you called here the other day, but I just happened to be out of town on business and only arrived back in New York this morning.

Regarding the photographs of the four paintings by Tiepolo which were left by the late James Deering to the Art Institute of Chicago, I regret to state that we did not sell these pictures. It may be that they were sold by Arnold Seligmann.

Regretting that I am unable to give you any other particulars and with my kind regards and taking this opportunity of wishing you a happy New Year,

Yours very truly,

JACQUES SELIGMANN & CO., Inc.
