Sir you will Please come down to Henderson Granville Co N Carolina and settle a contract between William Merrymen Col [[strikethrough]] and [[/strikethrough]] Henry Meryman Col and myself Col made with P. R. Merryman white for the rent of a Blacksmith Shop for the year 1866 also a difficulty between [[rubbed out]] Henr [[/rubbed out]] the aforesaid 3 colored men and th firm of [[?]] Burrell & Parham white I will now state the case William Merryman Col Henry Merryman Col and myself Heilman Revis Col rented the shop for th said year and was to pay the said P. R. Merryman $200.00 in blacksmith work and when five months of the year 1866 had Passed away the said P. R. Merryman white man sold the said shop and rent also to Burrel & Parham  white and in the time of the said five months we the (colored men) worked enough to Pay the said P. R. Merryman $190.00 and one month after this five months we the (said colored men) worke more to [[strikethrough]] the besides the $190.00 to [[/strikethrough]] to the amount of $200.00 and odd dollars in all done for him but still the said Burrel & Parham holds us the (colored men) for the rent of
