To all Christian people to whom these presents shall come, Greetings: Know ye, that I, Henry
Beesley, of the State of South Carolina, and County of Currituck, Roanoke Island, for and in consideration of the sum of seventeen pounds, ten shillings, specie, to me in hand paid before the ensealing and delivery hereof by Reuben Etheridge, Jun'r, of the State and County aforesaid, the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge and myself therewith fully satisfied and contented, thereof and of every part and parcel thereof, do exonerate, acquit and discharge the said Reuben Etheridge, his heirs, executors & administrators forever, by these presents have given, granted, bargained, sold, alienated, conveyed and confirmed, and by these presents have freely, fully and absolutely given, granted, bargained, sold and confirmed unto the said Reuben Etheridge, his heirs and assigns forever one certain messuage and tract of land situate, lying and being on Roanoke Island, in Currituck County, butted and bounded - beginning at a tree at Baum's line, then westerly to S. Wescott's Sr., line, then Easterly along said Wescott's line so far as to contain ten acres, then back to the first station, containing by estimation ten acres, be the same more or less. To have and to hold the said granted and bargained premises, with all the appurtenances, privileges and commodities to same belonging or in any wise appertaining, to him the said Reuben Etheridge, his heirs and assigns forever, to his and their only proper use, benefit and behoof forever. And I the said Henry Beesley, for me my heirs, executors and administrators, do covenant and deliver the said bargained premises unto the said Reuben Etheridge, to him, his heirs, and assigns
