Referring to your letter of 22^d inst. enquiring whether transportation can be furnished for horse owned by contract surgeon when it is found necessary to change their stations, and presenting the case of Actg Asst. Surg. A B. Chapin, who has been ordered from Greensboro' to Raleigh, you are respectfully informed as to the case presented; that the distance from Greensboro to Raleigh being understood to be but 80 miles it is believed that the horse can be driven that distance without inconvenience and the expense of transportation thus avoided- As regards the
