Mr. ^[[E. R. Northum]] is hereby appointed a ^[[Clerk]] in the Bureau of Refugees, Freedmen, and Abandoned Lands, ^[[State of N. Carolina]] at a salary of ^[[thirty five dollars]] per month.

This appointment is made under the provisions of "An Act to continue in force and amend an Act to establish a Bureau for the relief of Freedmen and Refugees, and for other purposes." It will take effect ^[[July 1, 1867]] and remain in force until revoked by orders from this office.

The oath required by law will be taken, and filed in the office of the Asst. Commissioner of the ^[[State of N. Carolina]].
