General: Major General Howard directs me to inform you that he has consented to have the case of Wm R. F. Hunter, formerly an Agent in North Carolina re-examined, and with a view to this end he desires that you will appoint a Board for that purpose to consist of Bvt Lieut Col. J. F. Chur, Lieut Rob't Avery, and Thomas P. Johnston, Disbursing Officer and direct them to convene on the 10th of Sept. 1867 or as soon thereafter as practicable.
