Scortechini was Govt botanist in Perak, Malaysia - see http://plants.jstor.org/stable/10.5555/al.ap.person.bm000330384 Scortechini collected throughout Australia and SE Asia and in the mid-1880's he was appointed Government Botanist at Perak, in the Straits Settlements (now Malaysia).
