The following clues lead me to believe the Island of St. Mary referred to on the page is an Isla Santa Maria (or St Mary's Island) off the coast of Chile. Unfortunately there are multiple Isla Santa Marias in Chile. I suspect the largest Isla Santa Maria, in the Biob? region, is the most likely location where the specimen was collected. 1) https://archive.org/stream/jameseights179815052mcki/jameseights179815052mcki_djvu.txt This link is to the full text of a book on James Eights ("J. Eights" listed on the page). A CTRL+F search for 'Mary Island' leads to a discussion about Mutisia (on the page) specimens collected on a St. Mary Island off the coast of Chile. There is further mention of a Dr. Beck (possibly referring to "Lewis C. Beck" on the page). There are also references to Mutisia ilicifolia and Mutisia spinosa (both listed on the page) in the text. 2) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_islands_of_Chile This link is to a list of Chilean islands, of which there are 6 islas (islands) or islotes (islets) named Maria. I checked the lat/long coordinates in Google Maps and I suspect the largest one in the Biob? region is the most likely location where the specimen was collected.
