They may, however, be deposited in checking and savings accounts in any bank, open for business, in the usual manner and checks may be drawn against such deposits just as usual. There is no reason why these drafts should not be used freely as a local medium of exchange in the same manner as currency and be acceptable in payment of any purchases at stores or in payment of any debt or trade account in exactly the same manner as United States Currency is acceptable. Remember that your name must be endorsed on the back of the drafts as usual. These drafts are worth their full face value and you should not allow any discounting of that face value. March 9, 1933 H.
