A fine stream of good clear water all the way is said to be permanent. There are beautiful spots for camps all along under groves of [[checkmark]] cottonwoods or [[checkmark]] pines or [[checkmark]] Junipers or [[checkmark]] walnuts. with open park like clearings and peaks and cliffs and caves to be explored. 
[[strikethrough]] Aber [[/strikethrough]] [[checkmark]] Deer tracks were numerous at salt licks and [[checkmark]] Abert squirrels [[checkmark]] rock squirrels and chipmunks were common all along. Neotoma houses were seen in rocks and brush piles and old beaver stumps were numerous. 
One Cottonwood tree [[strikethrough]] ha [[/strikethrough]] cut half down by beavers measured 24 by 26 inches at the cut. - see photo. But the beaver work is old 10 or 20 years at least. 
At Frisco they say fruit does not do well on the river bottoms. One apple orchard has yielded on two years in 7 on account of frosts. None are tried on [[beech?]] land.
