look quite properly mated with him. Didn't see so much of her but she was extremely friendly and attractive when we did. They had their one boy, "Normy" with them and it was he, whom Rog socked in the mouth. Most unfortunate and my fault.

The Bamfords: Mrs. Bamford, a very tall, angular, middle aged woman with washed out hair and a freckled, sharp, bespectacled face, and her angular 13 or 14 year old boy, Sidney, the guy who socked Bab. To my surprise, I ended my stay at Shanty Shane playing doubles with Mrs. Bamford and finding her not at all unpleasant. I decided maybe I had misjudged both her and Sidney for he never pulled another fast one the whole time we were there. Who or where Mr. Bamford is, I did not ascertain. A very pretty, platinum haired daughter appeared one day from a girls camp nearby however, and she raised my opinion of Mrs. Bamford also. Mrs. Bamford says she's been coming to Vermont for twenty years. 

The Garwoods: Here we have a dizzy combination from Houston, Tex.  Mrs. Garwood was a very sloppy weak faced looking woman, her hair always in a muddle. Her son, say 6 or 7, had all the earmarks of being subnormal and was well nigh unmanageable. With them was a stoical, hefty, chesty Mexican governess who never appeared to do or say anything. It was "Will", the boy, whom I overheard say to his mother on the float, when she asked him to do something because his father did it: "Oh, that way's no good. He didn't know anything." Sometimes I felt guilty in not sympathising more with the woman
