over tomorrow to do some small industrial diesel work with Roy (I hope). It is tough going to get these fellows actively started on this campaign. They have so d– much other work, I feel almost guilty to keep on their tails so hard.

Boston, Mass.
Wednesday, Dec. 21, 1938.
Today proved to be a sheer waste of time; I stayed over to visit the New England Coal & Coke Co. and the Merrimac Chemical with Roy Goggin in the interests of the small diesels and Roy failed to make connections with the Industrial Dept. contact man for these concerns, so after lunch about 2PM, I decided to go to New York, and went back to the hotel to check out and catch the 3PM train. But my laundry wasn't back yet and finally I had to give up the idea and take the "Owl" as I had planned originally. I killed the rest of the afternoon around the hotel, not feeling like doing any sightseeing. Tried to get Bill Libby on the phone unsuccessfully. So had an early dinner, checked out and went to South Station where I killed 2 1/2 hours in the movie there before getting on the train at 10PM. It is a "newsreel" theater like the one at Grand Central that the show lasted 2 1/2 hours and was exceptionally good. They had a colored fashion picture featuring various famous models (Kay Williams not included) and I have never seen such an array of loveliness before.

I must say this trip to Boston has proved to be pretty much of a wild goose chase except for the dope
