probably induced by so much cold medicine. Willie called Dr. Gannon and he didn't seem at all disturbed about it so I guess she'll be all right. I hated to leave however, with Babbie upset – she seems to be getting over the bronchitis very nicely.

This morning Cash told me he had made cautious inquiry about the N.Y. Office report and and there is some foundation for it. Several are being considered and I am one of them but there is nothing yet even approaching anything definite. So we'll have to hold off temporarily on renting a house.

Mother and I had an uneventful trip to Syracuse but I know she was very glad to have me with her. I got her all registered and they had the room she wanted all reserved – #943 – up high and near the big court where there should be plenty of light. We went over to Child's for dinner and ran into Florence & Kate DeWolfe, Mrs. Moore, Gladys, Timmerman & Frances Gere in there. It was a godsend! It cheered Mother up immensely and automatically everyone will soon know she's there. She told me she didn't want anyone to know she was there. We had a visit in her room in the evening and I caught the 12:24 sleeper for Albany, getting about the last upper they had. I do hope Mother is happier there than she has been.
