office. Larry pursued him, caught him and said, "Wait a minute, No man ever talked to me like that before. I want to talk to you." And from then on they have been fast friends.

Dave Reid is a vindictive, narrow individual who has long hated Larry because he is a rival so Dave feels. On one occasion Roy witnessed and another he has heard of, when Dave was drunk, he has raved about his hate for Larry. The one time Roy heard, was at a weekend party at Roy's family's place on Naragansett Bay attended by B & M officials. Roy knows Dave well, has frequently entertained him at the Goggins' apartment. But he doesn't respect him as he does Larry. My impression of Dave is that he is a small person with a poor background trying to cover up something - probably that very background. He doesn't act like a big man or a real gentleman.

Roy told another good anecdote of a party he became involved in in New York. He arrived in town with some New Haven men who took him to the Hotel Lincoln where they had some girl friends lined up. Roy says he didn't fall for anything unusual. They drank, went out to eat, went to the Stork Club. It was late and the New Haven men disappeared. Roy went out to put the girls in a taxi and pay the driver to take them home, when one of them said, "Well, who's going to pay [[underlined]] us?" [/underlined]] They were hired
