Larry got back today, and I had a session in his office this morning from 10 to 11. Larry was interested only in Biddeford at first but finally decided North Adams would be a still better place because of no maintenance problem. They (Larry and Ernie Blake) didn't bump my maintenance figures as much as I expected them to. Larry had to catch the 11 AM train for North Billerica, so I went with him to wind up. At 12:30 PM, Larry rushed off for Concord, and after a lunch in the shop restaurant, I waited for Roy, who drove over with Neil Donovan from Watertown Arsenal. We drove back to Boston, a lovely day too, sunny and thawing like April. Had an hour in the office, and at 5, Roy, Neil, and Stanley Thomas and I went down to the usual tavern for a drink.

I had agreed to meet Walt Scarborough at the hotel between 5 and 5:30. He had bought our tickets this morning on the 7 PM west, and was to get me some money also, as I didn't have enough to pay the hotel bill. I got to the hotel at 5:50 PM; no Walt. So I packed.
