And, oh yes, had a talk with Maurice today also, to discover the plans for the Pittsburgh trip are all haywire now for some reasons he tried to explain but I was too dumb to fathom. So again my plans for the immediate future are beclouded. I have never seen a man like Maurice, so keen on long range planning of every kind, and such a bum batting average in seeing them carried out. It's getting to be almost traditional with me anyhow.

Plugged all day on the small B&M report and just about wound it up except for the trimmings and I think it's going to be good. I want Walt Hedley to get a copy sometime because I just wonder if he is entertaining doubts as to my real ability in making reports. He made big talk about me and Alco report work when I was in N.Y. last month and I haven't heard a word from him since. I'm wondering if any of the Alco boys made any disparaging remarks about the material turned in by Tom and me for the Alco report. I wasn't too proud of it myself but think it was the best that could be done in the time we took and that voluminous dope was largely unwarranted because of the application largely of standard units. But I wonder. I think this small diesel report should allay any fears of Walt because I think it's the best one
