"Aida" was marvellous this afternoon on the radio--Gigli, just back at the "Met" after seven years absence, Zinka Milanoff, Castagna, Pinza, Tagliabué--hard to beat. Zinka is a comer too. Even Rog and Bab confessed they liked the Grand March.

Went to the Greers to a bridge party this evening and Willie took first prize. My cards were terrible and the one good hand I had all evening, I muffed completely with Dorothy MacLeod as partner. Dorothy is unquestionably the city's most indifferent bridge player. She thinks and talks about everything under the sun but bridge, plays out of turn or not at all until jacked up--and all so bright and glib and sparkling about it too. I was at the same table with her three out of four, and it was almost too much. Dorothy is a smart--even brilliant girl in some lines. Photography is one of her long suits--really brilliant at it--so it tickled me to hear her say she consistently overexposed her X-mas movie in color--spoiled it all because she had the wrong film speed--and I, the utter amateur, got a good film X-mas all the way through.

A trip to the Peninsula this morning to take movies, a ride to the "Erie Mountains" this afternoon--all because it was clear and sunny all day long, a rare event in Erie this time of year. Otherwise, odd jobs, letters, and finishing my cartoon.

I changed "the same table her" to "the same table with her" near the middle of the page.--thomasc
