Maurice assigned me to taking care of Doremus of the Denver Office today, and I enjoyed it, finding him extremely likeable and easy to get along with. We had lunch at the Den as I wanted to shop at noon, and we had a good talk about Colorado - Fall River Pass, Bear Lake, Dream Lake, Longs Peak, and so on.

Got messed up into John Brownhirst job again as Jake didn't get back. Wheat, of [[underlined]] Brownhirst [/underlined]], called me from Bay City and wanted a price over the phone on some stuff. I stalled him off and then routed the reply through the Industrial Dept. at Schenectady. Jake had told Wheat last week at Newport News the stuff would be $2100 and I figured it $3000 so I don't know what Jake had in mind. I hope he gets back and takes his job over as he should.

Walt Scarborough told me today he hoped he never had to spend another evening like last Saturday when "that fool brother of mine got tight, and then tells a lot of dirty stories and uses vile language in front of the women!" I tried to soothe him but I know how he felt. He says the next day, John was dismayed when he realized what he had done and asked Walt to apologize for him. John left last night and I guess they are much relieved.

Bab better today and Rog about the same but full of pep so not worried about him.
