bounced back from Colliers today with a printed rejection slip and no comments. Well, I couldn't really have expected anything else for a starter. The first cartoon, the tramp on the roof of the streamliner, hasn't returned yet.

Had a busy day cleaning up the trip work, especially lining up the Whitinville job, which can be ballasted to 60 tons and weight shift compensation added also if necessary.

Today was a dull one at the office until about mid-afternoon when it wound up in a whirlwind, getting prices together for Waller on New Haven locomotives for a Gibbs & Hill report and working with Townsend over the phone to get a foot in the door at Republic Steel in Buffalo who are going to buy a small diesel and are all set for Plymouth mechanical drive. Wound up by they making a date for me tomorrow at Republic Steel in Buffalo to help them pull the job out of the fire.

My first carton bounced back today with nothing but a curt rejection slip from Colliers It's a good thing in a way because it makes me realize I've got to get down and work hard at this business if I'm going to get anywhere, no matter how easy it looks.

The children are coming along well but both still in bed.
