A lot has gone over the dam since Feb. 25th - less than two months. Mother's leg trouble, my trip to Syracuse to take her to the hospital, her 2 1/2 weeks in the hospital, and convalescence, our Easter trip up to see her. The U.P's, shipment and so far, successful performance. The Republic Steel and Flexomotive campaigns. The events in Europe - world shaking. The affairs in the office - my handling Jake's work - the Navy job in particular. The events in the Walter-Maybelle Scarborough history. The postponing of completion of the new house from April 1st to June 1st. Ann's coming back. And a hundred other interesting things that should be in the record and aren't. Well, from now on they are going to be. And from now on we're taking hold of life as we should.
