Friday, May 5, 1939.
This morning I began monkeying with my nose and against all my intentions not to pick it again, I picked off a scab in the inner wall of that lately afflicted right nostril with my handkerchief. It was raw up in there and I got worried. So took the bus from the office downtown and saw Dr. Delaney. He said it had no connection with the other affair, treated it and let me go. But he did say I should never let a place get so sore and swollen as I did before in my nose before seeing a doctor--said I got off "pretty easy" considering what it was like. So I went back to the office relieved and feeling I had learned a new lesson or two.
